*Police Seize Vehicles Carrying Illegally Transported Khair Wood at Rakh Muthi* Jammu: Acting on routine naka checking, a police party of Police Post Jourian, under the supervision of *Sanjeet Singh, Incharge Choki Officer Jourian,* established a special naka at Rakh Muthi during the intervening night of 27/28. At about 03:30 hrs, two vehicles— Scorpio bearing Registration No. PB-09G-4072, and Mahindra Load Carrier bearing Registration No. JK02BM-7125— were signaled to stop by the naka team. However, upon noticing the police presence, the drivers attempted to flee and managed to escape under the cover of darkness. On inspection, both vehicles were found loaded with Khair wood logs weighing approximately 50–60 quintals, which were being illegally transported for commercial purposes. Both vehicles, along with the seized Khair wood, have been taken into police custody. A report has been entered at Police Post Jourian, and the Forest Department has been informed for further necessary legal action.
