KISHTWAR UPDATE 7 soldiers were injured in an encounter with Jaish militants in Chatroo, Kishtwar. Three of the injured soldiers have been airlifted. The operation is still underway.

Eight Army soldiers were injured in a gunfight with terrorists in the forested Sonnar area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. The encounter began during a joint search operation by the Army and J&K Police under ‘Operation Trashi-I’. Terrorists, believed to be 2–3 foreign militants linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad, opened fire and hurled grenades. Security forces retaliated, and reinforcements from the Army, CRPF, and police were deployed. Most injured soldiers suffered splinter injuries and were shifted to hospital. The operation is ongoing with drones and sniffer dogs being used to track the terrorists. Security has been intensified ahead of Republic Day.
