In a decisive step in the battle against drug trafficking, Srinagar Police on Tuesday attached property valued at ₹1.20 crore that belongs to notorious drug peddler Nisar Ahmad Sheikh. This action took place under the ongoing 100 Days Campaign of the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, aimed at eradicating drug abuse across the region.
Acting under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, Police Station Nowhatta executed the attachment linked to FIR No. 61/2019. This FIR addresses violations under Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act. The attached property consists of a fully renovated, three-storey residential house, a separate single-storey concrete kitchen block featuring three washrooms, and an area of land measuring 09 marlas.
Nisar Ahmad Sheikh, son of Habibullah Sheikh, resides in Kani Dewar, Sheikh Mohallah, Hawal area of Srinagar. Investigations by the police revealed that the property had been acquired through the proceeds of illicit drug trafficking. Following legal protocols, the assets were confirmed as illegally obtained and have now been seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act.
