15 Illegal Structures Demolished in Anantnag Amid Drug Crackdown

The District Administration of Anantnag took significant action on Saturday by demolishing 15 illegal structures in Waghama, Bijbehara, as part of its ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt J&K Campaign. This crackdown targets drug peddlers and violators of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

During the operation, authorities dismantled structures that included 15 shops erected illegally on State and Kahcharai land designated under Khasra Nos. 2494 (min) and 2495 (min). According to officials, these properties were linked to individuals facing charges under the NDPS Act.

The enforcement operation, a joint effort by revenue authorities and the police department, also recovered encroached State and Kahcharai land, marking a pivotal move towards reclaiming public property.

The District Administration has emphasized its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding drug trafficking. Officials have stated that strict actions against drug networks and unlawful land occupation will continue throughout the campaign. This initiative aims to dismantle illegal assets associated with the drug trade, effectively disrupting the narcotics supply chain in the district.

Authorities have issued a stern warning that individuals found participating in drug-related activities or unauthorized encroachments will face severe legal repercussions in the upcoming days. The commitment to eradicating narcotics and restoring public lands serves as a crucial element of the administration’s broader strategy.

This aggressive approach reflects the government’s dedication to make Jammu and Kashmir a drug-free zone, highlighting the increasing urgency to combat the rampant spread of drug-related crimes in the region. Local residents have expressed support for these measures, hoping they will bring about a safer environment free from illicit drug activities.
