Memorandum Seeking Urgent Intervention for Completion of Darhali Bridge–Darhali Morh Road Rajouri: In a strong yet respectful appeal, the residents of the Darhali area have urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, to kindly intervene and ensure the immediate completion of the long-pending Darhali Bridge to Darhali Morh road project. The foundation stone of this crucial road was laid approximately five years ago by the then Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Shavan, creating optimism among the local population that improved connectivity and infrastructure development would soon follow. The project was envisioned as a significant step toward strengthening rural connectivity, facilitating economic activity, and ensuring safer transportation for the public. However, despite the passage of considerable time, the road remains incomplete. The prolonged delay has resulted in severe inconvenience to residents, including students commuting to schools and colleges, patients requiring urgent medical attention, daily wage earners, traders, and transport operators. During adverse weather conditions, the situation becomes even more challenging, posing safety risks and disrupting normal life. The people of the area have expressed deep concern over the slow pace of progress and the absence of visible construction activity. They believe that the completion of this road is not merely a matter of convenience but a fundamental necessity for regional development, economic growth, and social welfare. Through this memorandum, the residents respectfully request the Hon’ble LG and Hon’ble Chief Minister to: Direct the concerned department to review the current status of the project. Fix accountability for the delay, if any. Allocate necessary funds and resources for its immediate execution. Provide a clear timeline for completion to restore public confidence. The public remains hopeful that under the dynamic leadership and commitment to development demonstrated by the present administration, this long-awaited infrastructure project will receive due priority and be completed at the earliest in the larger interest of the community. The residents look forward to swift and positive action, reaffirming their faith in the government’s vision of inclusive growth and balanced development across all regions of Jammu & Kashmir.
