**Ramban, September 23:** In a deeply unsettling incident on Tuesday evening, two police officers were found deceased inside a car at Ziarat Morh, located in the Sana area of Batote tehsil. Local officials reported the grim discovery at approximately 8:30 pm.
According to a statement from the Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the two cops were discovered unresponsive in a Fiat Linea, registered as JK-19/5299. Concerned locals immediately rushed them to the District Hospital Ramban, where the attending medical staff pronounced them dead on arrival.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed, designated as No. 408/Rbn and hailing from Bhatti Ramban, and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob, holding the badge No. 309/Rbn and a resident of Jatgali Ramban. Both officers served at the District Police Lines in Ramban.
Authorities have now placed the bodies in the hospital’s care for completion of necessary medico-legal procedures. Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are actively probing the situation to determine the exact cause and circumstances leading to this tragic event.
