Satish Sharma Inaugurates Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall in Khour

Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, inaugurated a multipurpose indoor sports hall in the Khour area on Monday, significantly enhancing sports infrastructure in the border regions of Jammu and Kashmir.

This new facility underscores the government’s commitment to bolster modern and accessible sports amenities for the youth of the Union Territory. Sharma emphasized that the government prioritizes rural and border areas to foster a robust sports culture, instilling discipline and promoting a healthy lifestyle among young individuals.

“Quality sports infrastructure at the grassroots level plays a crucial role in identifying, nurturing, and grooming sporting talent,” Sharma stated. “Our aim is to ensure that no talented youth is deprived of opportunities due to lack of facilities.”

The newly inaugurated hall features world-class amenities designed to cater to various sports disciplines. It includes facilities for three badminton courts, six table tennis courts, a volleyball court, two judo courts, along with two wrestling and kabaddi courts, creating a comprehensive training environment for budding athletes.

During the inauguration ceremony, Sharma engaged with local youth and sportspersons, encouraging them to utilize the facilities optimally. He reiterated the government’s dedication to enhancing sports infrastructure, boosting youth engagement, and promoting athletic talent throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

The opening of this multipurpose indoor sports hall is expected to significantly uplift sporting activities in Khour and its neighboring regions. It enables young athletes to access modern amenities closer to home, fostering their development and passion for sports.
